HOW MANY WEDDING INVITATIONS AND FAVOURS SHOULD I ORDER?

Wedding Invitation Ordering Tips Every Couple Should Know

Your wedding invitations are the very first glimpse your guests will have of your special day. They set the tone, hint at your wedding style, and build excitement for what’s to come. When it’s time to place your order, keeping a few key tips in mind can help you avoid unnecessary stress—and unnecessary reorders.

You Only Need One Invitation Per Household

It’s easy to assume that the total number of guests equals the total number of invitations, but unless every guest is attending solo, that’s rarely the case.

Instead, go through your guest list and group guests by household. Couples, families, or individuals living at the same address only need one invitation between them. This simple step will give you a much more accurate idea of how many invitations to order.

Order Plenty of Spare Invitations

Once you know how many households are on your list, it’s wise to order a few extra invitations. Here’s why:

For Your Backup Guest List

If some guests from your initial list are unable to attend, you may want to invite people from a backup list. Having spare invitations on hand makes this easy and stress-free.

For Your Photographer

Your photographer will likely capture detail shots on the day—flat lays, décor, and stationery included. Having a complete invitation set available ensures your stationery is beautifully documented.

For You to Keep

Your wedding invitations are one of the few tangible keepsakes you’ll have long after the day is over. Ordering an extra one or two allows you to save them as special mementos to look back on for years to come.

Don’t Forget Additional Inserts

If you’re hosting multiple events—such as a Mehndi, Nikkah, Walima, or Dholki—it’s best to plan any additional inserts at the same time as your main invitation.

We offer A6 inserts designed to complement your invitations perfectly. If you’d like a matching insert design that isn’t shown on our website, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to customise it for you.

Wedding Favours: Order Early

Wedding favours are another detail best handled early. We recommend placing your order at least 3–4 weeks before your wedding day—the earlier, the better.

To ensure freshness (especially for chocolate favours), we dispatch orders as close to your wedding date as possible. If you’re short on time, don’t worry—express delivery is available on all our products. Just get in touch as soon as possible so we can help.
